Homemade Microwave Terrarium

Hey guys, first time poster and very beginner gardener here. I just moved back to Rhode Island and suddenly I really had this desire to grow my own plants. So I started at the end of summer with a couple avocado seeds; putting tooth picks in the top to balance them in a glass of water about half way up the seed. I only grow the seeds of plants leftover from making dishes so I was excited when we brought mangoes into the apartment. I quickly set them up to germinate (3 mango seeds) in a damp paper towel in an air sealed ziploc bag. Unfortunately fall is coming around and these colonial houses get fairly cold in the morning. It seemed to make sense to me that avocados and mangoes don't grow everywhere in Rhode Island so naturally I should keep them warm. I found a trashed microwave and started coming up with ideas. Soon, the microwave was taken apart, gutted of all its microwavey parts, stuffed with ripped tshirts and newspaper for insulation, and put back together. I created a ventilation system inside where all the wires used to be so that there is a constant flow of air. I started thinking that they wouldn't get good sunlight so I took the screening off the door and put a sheet of clingwrap over it for kind of a green house type deal (like I said beginner). At night I put rocks that have been in the oven in the microwave to keep the inside pretty warm and then again in the morning. I just wanted some professional critique for my homemade terrarium and see what you guys think. Thoughts? Don't be afraid to say it's dumb, I've been asking myself that question since I made it and it'll be nice getting an answer. Thanks guys!
