Making a vivarium website, anyone have anything they want to see?

It's really a combination of the step by step process that I'm going through with my new vivarium, and basic information for vivarium owners, some of which could be helpful to terrarium owners too. Unfortunately no one here can see the working product, it's on my school server but if it comes out well enough I might put it up on the WWW. Anyways, being a begginer site (as in my first web site and a site for begginers) what should I put on this site to help anyone that would see it? So far I have a basic list of beginner species of plants and animals, and soon to be added are needs and expectations for them (size, habitat, etc). That, and the basic intro and such. Any feedback is greatly appreciated

RE: Making a vivarium website, anyone have anything they want to

I would take pics of the various steps of construction. This would include false bottoms (or other alternatives), different waterfeatures (I am ALWAYS asked how I made my stream and waterfall!), different substrate possibilities, and tips on making the landscape interesting (wood, different levels/slopes, interesting rocks, etc.) You should also greatly emphasize that if one wants to keep animals in their terrarium, the animal's needs come first, and the rest of the terrarium should be designed around that. Also, give the poor things some SPACE! How would you like to spend your entire life in a 20 x 20 foot room with a sheet or two of paper towel for a carpet and a single piece of wood to sit on? (Or a single couch, to make it more human-like). I have seen terrariums set up like that, and I think it's just sick. Borders on cruelty to animals! Stepping off my soapbox now. . . =) Just think of the questions usually asked by beginners on this website and answer them! Oh yeah, you should also talk about lighting a bit, like how people don't NEED to buy fancy-waste-of-money 'grow lights'. If you don't know much, don't put too many specifics on your website, because you may be wrong. Something else that's hard to find is a photo tutorial of making your own simple light fixture and wiring a fan. Good luck! Oh yeah, and you can always refer people to this forum! =)
