Hey lucky you don't complain, lol. I was just reading at jungle site (forget exact name) that that type of wood doesn't do well in wet environments. Maybe it is a harder tighter grained piece (burl or something) or even petrified slightly, or found in area where it got harder. Who knows, lucky you as it is very pretty. OR give it some time? That's what I was going to say.Don't give up hope it WILL rot eventually lol Grapewood will last a long time though. I've grown orchids on natural limbs for many tears
and have tried many types and find that the more rot resistant the wood is the more reluctant the orchid is to root to it. I have a piece of Teak that is over 20 years and
is still hanging on though the hole for the hanging wire has rotted through several times. The best wood for rooting that I have tried is either Orange or palm trunk but will rot while you watch lol. Been experimenting with PVC limbs that I make my self by using flexible PVC pipe and gluing various organic material to it. Works fairly well but of course you have to keep adding material over time.
