Need Suggestions for Curtains

I need a curtain idea for over the sink and I also have an area to the left that is a large sliding glass door. I don't know what color to use or style. My kitchen colors are basically black, beige, brown and a bit of gold in my island granite. I am clueless as to what to do. Please help!

Interesting island top, the way it overhangs.

Is that cooking oil or wine?

KT, Those are bottles of olive oil which I use for cooking. The island has the overhang because it is also used as a bar. I need to get chairs or stools eventually but I can only focus on one thing at a time. Right now I need help with curtains. The color is so limited that I don't know what to go with. Can anyone offer some help?

Just my opinion, and yes, you are limited with what colours you have to work with, but I guess it depends on what you want...dark or light.

You could go with a dark curtain that matches the counter top, or anything from white to tan to brown or beige, etc.

You could get a mottled curtain or something with designs such as small flowers, etc, but something that matches the island counter top(or the floor), I think that would be nice and it would balance out the colours. That is what I would do.

You may try posting over on the Kitchen Forum or the Home Decorating Forum, they may give better advice.

Just remember, YOU have the final say-so, and you alone know what you will feel comfortable with.
