Does a (strike)link(/strike) render the link unclickable?

As they say "you never know, until you try". -- Especially on these forums. I did not put (strike)link(/strike). The software took it upon itself to change a < to a (. Old, old annoyance.

Trying to replace the less than signs with < and the greater than signs with > but it's not quit working in the title. Oh well. :)

Well, replacing the & preceding the lt; and gt; with & may work. Lots of trouble though? :)
