divider strips on walls

Bought a 1995 manufactured home. Wanting to remove divider strips and paint. Have already researched the whole primer/paint thing and think I have that figured out, but was wondering if a person can remove those strips from the walls, fill in and then paint? Any suggestions? Please?

You may want to go to the Manufactured homes or to the Home Repair forums

Yes, it is done here all of the time. Get some spackle, some drywall tape and joint compound and do it yourself.
