A "Texas Purple Japanese Wisteria" indeed. Purchased on the 20th of February and has flowered and proliferated beautifully....and yes I'm addicted to digging. I now forgone manicures to dig and plant ;-) don't know if that's good or bad but nonetheless.

Funny you say that I've been looking at those. Clumping bamboo, right? which kind is that? how much water do they require?

Yes, clumping bamboo. The pictured variety is BAMBUSA pervariabilis viridistriata.

Most bamboo is actully very drought tolerant, but looks it's best with moderate water.

Sandy soil will require more water and heavy clay soil will require less, however, sandy, well drained soil is best.
