Amazon pricing a bit high, 10 gal. Smart Pots with handles at $7.85 (Plus S&H?) at Planet Natural. 10 gal. similar bags with handles for 5 bucks each (Free shipping to a HD store.) at HD.> Root Pouch.

In reading the sales pitch for Smart Pots it seems their claim to fame is increased aeration, keeping it cooler during elevated temps, and preventing the plant from becoming root bound, "Plant roots also benefit from their natural tendency to grow into soft surfaces like the Smart Pot, becoming thick and healthy instead of circling the inside of the pot and becoming root-bound. also called "air root pruning".

Hope this helps.

I remember seeing posts on things of this nature before. A simple search for "smart pots" (including parentheses) on GW brought up lots, in different forums. Dates go back a ways.

Here is a link that might be useful: right here
