OK Albert, how did you get the degree symbol in there? It used to work then it didn't work and now it worked for you. Come on, spill the beans. How did you do it.

always-beezee, use the sup tag and the lower case o. I don't remember how to post tags as text, I'll try - failed. Again,

< sup>o< /sup>

It would look like this without the space after the <.

Back in olden days there was some way to show it without the contrivance.

RE: degree F

Ah, got it, I think:

32oF will give you 32oF

I think.

RE: degree F

Thanks Albert.

I thought you used "alt code" to do it.

We need a ''sticky'' thread on this forum or somewhere for HTML. Among those which the serious poster should probably want occasionally is the degree sign, blockquote and the old standards of bold, italics, underline etc.

I appreciate this Albert_135. Thank you!

When GW asked for feedback on all the forums several months ago, amidst all the comments about ads, ads, ads, I specifically mentioned the degree sign. Gardeners talk about temperatures.

You may remember a year or 2 ago, I was struggling to make a degree sign here on the test forum. I finally just posted a picture of a thermometer . . .

Now, let's see: 32o!!!

Trying alt-0176 again. Temperature is 32F

Still seeing garbage. With the sup tag get: Temperature 32oF.

There was a time when Unicode worked.

I thought for the longest time that I had lost it tinkering with fonts and Firefox but apparently recognition of common Unicode was remove, it wasn't just me.

I wonder whatever happened.
