It really depends on the tree, shrub or perennial...

Most things should be fine if they are native to this area. What can be tough on some things (and what happened a few years ago) is when things have already started to bud/leaf out in the spring, then we get another really late freeze. That year took a toll several crape myrtles and Japanese Maples for me. Right now things are dormant, so freezing is not a danger.

However, I have a couple of perennials that are marginally hardy in this area, and I'm a little worried single-digit temps are going to take them out. I guess I'll see in the spring. I didn't cut those back to the ground, but left the foilage to protect the crowns, so maybe they'll make it (I hope).

I always used to worry about my Aucubas at my other house when it dropped into the teens. I hope those come back for my aunt! (She lives there now).
