Just cleared an area...muck!!!

So I broke down and had a bobcat and chainsaws go to town on my dead-sick tree area of my forested backyard. (there were two healthy hackberry trees that were dropped)... there was lots of english ivy, honeysuckle and weed privet.

So, now it looks seriously nasty back there: Ripped up and muddy. With spring, various weeds will begin to appear and will do much to improve the look of the area.

My plans are to plant a minimal maintenance edible tree garden back there.

In the mean time, I'm wondering if there is a kind of ground cover seed that I can toss around. Something that will be a kind of green, "grass" that is more walkable than the usual weeds.

I could toss some grass seed, but it is a large area and don't want to bother with lawn issues anyway.

Occasional mowing will be required one way or the other.

For now, I'm just depending on spring's weeds for my ground cover. Anything.... ANYTHING .... will look better than this savaged area!
