| I am new to Johnson City, TN, am building a new house on 3/4 acre, and want to plant all flowering trees and shrubs (including evergreens). I would love to know the best flowering trees and shrubs for this area. All help is appreciated! Thank you. |

| There are very many types of flowering trees and shrubs that will do well in this area. A good way to pick some out would be to go to your local nurseries (not HD, Lowes, or the corner fruit market) and see what they have available and what they would recommend. Once you get a list from what's available, come home and check them out before making a decision. Another good way to pick something out is to keep an eye out as you drive around and make note of what does well in your area. If you see a mature tree or shrub that you like, chances are it would do well in your area or it wouldn't still be there. What I'm saying is look at the menu before deciding on what you want. Sure, you can order in something not available locally, but transportation charges are going to be significant for decent size specimens. Unless you want something specific, shop locally and choose from what's available. |
