I finally cornered my husband today and we built our raised veggie garden. As we were filling it with soil I thought, "Why didn't I ask the Garden Webb peoples about what to fill this with before???"

So, now after the fact... We couldn't spend too much $$$. We used Top Soil, Humus Compost, and Manure. I didn't have a chance to plant any seeds yet & won't until Monday morning. So I guess there is still time if you suggest I add something else.

And, is now the right time to direct sow (I feel smart that I know what that means) my seeds? Sugar Snap Peas, Lettuce, Spinach, Beets, Carrots??? I was planning on doing this Monday.

So those would be my two questions:

1. What else should I do with my soil?

2. Can I plant these seeds now?

Okay, and I just thought of another:

3. What month should I plant my tomato and peppers? I was thinking of using starters for these, but maybe I'll be daring and try seed. Should I start them indoors or do that "Winter Sowing" I read about online?
