Companion plants - Raised bed veggies

I've only been gardening veggies for a couple of years, but this year I'm trying a raised bed. We'll see how that goes.

I was reading another post in which someone was talking about companion plants. This was specifically in reference to container gardening, not raised bed gardening, however I'm curious if I can plant companion plants among my other planned veggies in the container garden.

Does anyone know if I can or should do that? My biggest concern is that raised beds are already very crowded, but I can see myself possibly having room among my tomatoes and peppers, since I'm only planting one plant per square foot.

Thoughts?
