If anyone has lots of room to grow a bunch of trees and is interested in some somewhat unusual tree seeds, give me a shout. I have a bunch left over from planting this year.

No one else in Tennessee likes to grow rare trees?

I just bought another lot and am counting the number of spaces I have left for trees. :) I'm interested in trying some.

Hello, I like growing trees and shrubs from seeds. I especially like ones native to China. I'm starting 3 species of camellia this year but thats about it. Have you ever come across any Liriodendron chinense seeds or plants?

Many of the seeds have found a home, some still haven't. Here's what's left (I'm pretty sure):

Decaisnea fargesii (Dead Man's Fingers Tree) 13
    Ginkgo biloba (Ginkgo) 12 x 2
Gymnocladus chinensis (Chinese Coffee Tree) 12
Hovenia dulcis (Japanese Raisin Tree) 24+
    Idesia polycarpa (Iigiri Tree) 7
    Maackia chinensis (Chinese Maackia) 14
    Pistacia chinensis (Chinese Pistache) 24+

Belamcanda chinensis / Iris domestica (Blackberry Lily) 24 x ?
    Orthosiphon aristatus? (Cat's Whiskers) 24 x ?
    Passiflora incarnata (Purple Passionflower) 24 x 2
Ricinus communis (Castor Bean Plant) 12

If anyone could use all the rest of these, please let me know.

    mww181,

Sorry, but I don't have Liriodendron chinense. I did notice that the seeds were available through Shiffield's and Schumaker, and that plants were available through ForestFarm and Fairweather Gardens (although Fairweather's are quite pricey).

Are the Orthosiphon aristatus hardy here? Are they the white or the purple?

Nope, they would have to be grown as annuals. I actually got those particular seeds from a friend and have not seem them growing. That's why I have the "?" after the genus.

Hovenia dulcis (Japanese Raisin Tree) 24+
    Idesia polycarpa (Iigiri Tree) 7

I don't have anything to trade you, are you giving them away? SASE?

    Thanks,

    Steve

Brandon I would so be interested in the Ginkgo biloba tree seeds. I only am asking for a few seeds. When you have 12 x 2 is that 12 seeds 2 times or is that 12 times at 2 seeds?? If it is 2 seeds I would be happy with that!!

Hey Brandon I'd like to try a couple of the tree varieties you have. I've tried the Decaisnea fargesii twice before with both a plant and seeds. It will grow good and then just collapse for no reason. I'd like to try it again though. I'm going to try to provide a lot better drainage and plant it in half shade. I would also like to try the Gymnocladus chinensis seeds. Let me know what you need in return.
