They are Yoschino cherry tree

Yoshinos aren't pink; they're white. They bloomed a few weeks ago. The ones that are just finishing up now with the pink pom-pom flowers are Kwanzan cherries.

And the kwanzans look kind of like carnations; the yoshinos don't.

Very early in the spring, small trees with tiny pink pom pom flowers are flowering almonds. I love those very much. :-)
