That is a very hard question for me. I would have to say Daffodils. They are my favorite.

hmmm...only one? I love pentas for their heat tolerant blooms. The butterflies love them too. But then I'd need some dill to grow the butterflies. And then cucumbers to make some pickles. And tomatoes to go with the pickles on the sandwich.

Yeah, pentas, I think. LOL!

I too would be like (novice), just one plant "Tomato", color red, (may get in trouble here, but the yellow tomato is not for me) and must be a good canning one. If talking flowers "Iris", I know some only bloom April or May, but now we do have the re-blooming. Of course I might have to say Roses, for me the climbing,floribundas and now the knock out. My husband grew beautiful tea roses, but you have to constantly be working on them, checking on them every day.

Peonies, they remind me of my grandmother and the farm where my parents now live and my great grandmother who probably planted them. I have taken some of them to my house in town and every year at this time I think I will not cover them and it never fails, I get out my old sheets and clothes pins and protect my lovely peonies.

My favorite plant is tulip. I cannot do spring without tulips. But it's really not good for much outside of its season, and they rarely to never come back for me.

So, if I could plant only one plant, the one I think has the most going for it all-around, I would say...Bradford Pear.
