Knoxville May 5 Plant Swap

Just a reminder that the Knoxville Plant Swap is Saturday, May 5 at Admiral Farragut Park. Set up starts at 9 and swapping will begin at 10. As this is a community park (we do have the pavillon reserved), I do encourage folks to come early and get their parking spot close to the action!

I'm going to try and make it over there! We'll be fishing Fort Loudon, Watts Bar and Tellico this weekend. So if I can get out of the boat and out of Lenoir City I'll be there. I just won't have anything to swap; unless somebody wants some two pound Smallies! :-)

I'd love to try and catch one of the #1 Lady Vol softball games against #2 Bama. Oh well, this IS a fishing trip so my options are limited with three other fishermen to consider.

Jeff did just say he promised to be there not matter what, right?

I hope we have a BIG turnout. It looks like we are going to have tons and tons of plants and they will need good homes!

Anyone that isn't sure what to bring or even if they have anything to bring...the most important thing to bring is yourself and a box or two to carry home all the goodies.

Jeff, I'd love to meet you and some of the other Mid-Tn. GWers. Hopefully, things will work out where I can make it to the Middle Tn. Swap next year.

I'd like to check it out... not sure where the park is, but I'll google it.

So I'm interested in finding very young/sappling trees (crepe myrtles, dogwoods, hollies) because I have lots of area to fill... so will there be young trees there?

Or you can just boat on in. The park goes down to the river (Ft. Loudon Lake) and is just around the corner from the Cove at Concord Park and several Marinas.

I know the weather looks iffy for tomorrow - - but we may have plenty of dry weather! If not, the swap will go on - - Rain or Shine!

There is a large covered pavilion and I will be bringing my pop up canopy. If it rains we can back the cars together and put the canopy in between us. Also, many of us have swapped in the rain before - - just bring an unbrella or a slicker!
