    Steve,

The yellow, low-acid tomatoes and sweet peppers would trade nicely for the wineberry plants.

irisaddict, I'd love to trade a Peggy Martin Rose for either a raspberry or a hellebore.

  • tn_veggie_gardner

Irisaddict: Done. :) Good trade. Yellow maters are about 6-7 inches tall and growing nicely. Sweet peppers were started later, so they only have 4 leaves right now, but are looking very healthy...about 2 inches tall. I'll put you up one later today.

OK, I am joining the party very late. First time swapper, so I'm not exactly sure how this works. I don't have a ton of things to swap yet...we are in a new house.

Here is what I have that I could bring:

White Iris (Unnamed, very tall white. Came from my husband's grandfather's Iris collection. I have had them for many years).

Purple reblooming Iris (Also unnamed, have had for years, VERY vigorous. Stunning rich, brilliant deep purple. Have divided these for people many times, and everyone who has them always tells me later how much they love them).

    1 French Rose Iris

    1 Pink Double Peony

1 Pink Single Peony with yellow center

    3 Goldenrod (Baby Gold)

Here are some things I saw mentioned above that I would love to trade for, if you would be interested:

    Zebra Grass or Little Zebra
    Walker's Low Catmint
    Spiderwort
Aromatic Aster (I am intrigued too!)
    Moonbeam Coreopsis
    Canna Yellow King Humbert

The next project for me is a perennial garden (full sun). I am trying to collect plants for that. Looking for white, soft yellow, soft orange/peach and purple.

What do you think? I know I don't have much variety to offer, but thought I'd test the waters and see if any of you had any interest in these. :)

  • mari5us

    Connietn,
I have 2 different colors of spiderwort I would love to Trade you for your double pink peony and french rose iris if you are interested, I also have native columbines that bloom yellow and red. Let me know.
    Marianne

  • conniemcghee

mari5us, sounds good! :D Will save pink peony and French Rose Iris for one of each color!

OK then...I would like to add another to my list: Since it looks like I'm getting purple and white spiderworts, I have a Blueberry Sundae spiderwort I could trade if anyone wants it. I'd rather have the solid colors. It's very pretty...pale blue and white.

Oh, and veggielover, if no one else wants your huge clump of monkey grass, I'd be thrilled to get it! I need a ton of monkey grass for another project I'm planning. :)

Also, if anyone wants them, I could get my hands on three Delta Blues Iris. :) I also have Prom Night and it's not really my thing either, but it's blooming right now. Think it'd be too tough on it to pick it up and move it?

  • tn_veggie_gardner

mari5us: Your baby misses you already even though she hasn't met you yet...lol. Well over 2 feet tall & growing her 2nd bud cluster now. =) I had to stake her up the other night because of the crazy winds. She fell over. :( Absolutely no harm at all done though...amazing...very healthy plant. See you Saturday mornin'!

  • bigorangevol

Connie I like both of the Delta Blues and Prom Night if you're looking to get rid of them. I'm a sucker for all Daylily and Iris.

  • conniemcghee

veggielover: I have Common Lilac. Is that what you are looking for? If you tell me how to make a cutting I will bring you one. I've never done cuttings, but I follow directions well. :)

There is also a sucker coming up from the bottom of one of mine. It's about 8 or 9 inches tall with several leaves. Would it work to dig that up and bring it to you?

  • conniemcghee

Jeff, they're all yours! Maybe you could hook me up with some of your monkey grass? :)

  • conniemcghee

Hey Jeff...I was just thinking, since Prom Night just started blooming, what if I waited until it finished and then brought it over to you? I've always wanted to tour Cheapwood. LOL! I think I am only about five minutes from you.

  • conniemcghee

Oops. Jeff, I'm an idiot. It's not Prom Night I'm bringing, it's Quiet Riot.

The others are def. Delta Blues.

Let me see if I can post a picture. I took this tonight:

Rhonda and Connietn - marking down two of the asters for you two - you'll love them.

Also, will see if I can't split some Walker's Low catmint - I have it and it definitely needs to be split - if tomorrow's weather is kind, I'll get it for you, Connietn.

As far as what I need, I"m mainly in the market for burgundy, pink and white flowers (for the new garden). I haven't updated my trade lists (sorry, y'all, little time), but here's what I'm looking for -

    Chocolate cosmos
    White cosmos
    Pink cosmos
Astrantia - anyone got some? DESPERATELY need this one lol
Dark purple bearded iris - and by this I mean the one that blooms earliest every year - it is always the first to bloom by two weeks at least and that's the one I want :-) (not to be picky or anything :-) lol)
Purple or pink Cleome (spider flower) seeds
    Pepper plants (for Chip)
White creeping Verbena (this is the white variety that's like Homestead Purple - Ann usually has it but I know she's shared a few around with y'all :-)
Naked Lady Lilies (will take however many you have - need a bunch of them)
    White hollyhocks or Pink Hollyhocks
    White Muhly Grass
    Yellow foxgloves

and that's it (for now - lol)

See y'all soon! Chip probably won't be with me (he will probably be putting in the footer for our new garden wall) but I may bring my friend Brandy.

  • conniemcghee

April! Thank you, thank you! I am really excited about that aster. I don't have an aster at this house, and this one sounds fantastic! Would you like my pink peony with the yellow center, or would the yellow mess up your color scheme? What can I bring you? I have white irises. ?

  • tn_veggie_gardner

Wow....some very beautiful flowers headed to be swapped! =) Here's one that will probably have some flowers towards the end of this weekend or early next week. Your girl, Mariane.

    From afar...

    Gettin' tall...

The soon to be flowers...go up & to the left...you come up to a big V...there's a third brach behind it...follow that branch to where it crosses behind another...a tad later on the left...hello there, future flowers. :) Need a GPS to get there...lol...

The small dark blur above the other 4 small dark blurs (camera phone...) is the 2nd bud cluster...

Update: Mom is now coming with me :D

She is bringing cannas, more irises and maybe some elephant ears. No telling what else. LOL

I have everybody's things potted and ready to go. I also decided to bring

4 Iris Victoria Falls (reblooming blue)

1 Spiderwort Blueberry Sundae (blue and white)

I divided a clump of my purple reblooming irises, and Mom is bringing some of hers as well. Here is my pitch for these:

We lived and gardened in our previous home for 15 years. When we moved last year, I took only three things with me. One of them was a clump of these irises. If I could have only taken one thing, it would be these irises. :) I love them that much!

They are medium height, vibrant deep purple, and bloom in spring and fall. One little group of five will spread and make a nice statement in just a couple of years.

    You NEED these irises!!! :D

  • irisaddict

    Connietn,

I will probably trade you something for the iris since you pitched them so well.

  • april_h_o April Moore

    Oooh...Sweet William...I do love those!

Any one got any July Beauty garden phlox? The big purple fragrant ones...I used to love those growing up.

See y'all soon. About to go out and see if the Walker's Low catmint feels like being disturbed. :-)

  • conniemcghee

April, so funny you would mention garden phlox! I have potted for you a white "David." I'm sorry it's not the purple, but you said you were looking for white and white is what I have. :) David is supposed to be very mildew-resistant. This is my first year with it.

Have a couple of other small surprises for you too.
