Why I wasn't there...

So I have now missed I think three of the MTPS swaps since the first one so many years ago. It felt weird, but only in the few spare moments I had that weekend. We were busy doing all the final bits around the house and finishing up landscaping around the new pergola before the wedding.

Wedding? Yes, wedding. My son (23) got married at our house this past weekend. There were over 100 guests at the wedding and we had the reception there as well. (AND the rehearsal dinner the night before.)

Here are a few shots from the day. Mostly of the B&G but you can see a little of the pergola and the grounds that the MTPS helped fill.

Wow, you are such an excellent photographer! Congrats to your son and new daughter-in-law! You have a beautiful place. You know, it wouldn't be half bad for plant swap *wink*.

Recovered? Well...it's odd...we stayed so busy all spring that we now seem to be at a loss for what to do with ourselves. *grin*

But yeah, I think we're on the mend. What kind of specs are you looking for? I didn't build it, by the way. I'm thrilled you have that much confidence in me, but this was brought in on a dump trailer and slid onto a gravel pad we prepared for it. Add mulch and voila!

That pergola looks huge. It looks like all your preparations worked out great. I look forward to seeing your expanded family at the swap. We missed yall.

Dang dude, all it takes is a template. We could have done that ourselves. It's all 2x6's and 6x6 posts right? The arches would have been the only hard part and they wouldn't have been that bad.

I'm thinking about building a 25' x 20' flat top to cover part of the patio. My biggest concern though is CLEANING it in the years to come.

It takes a template and time, my friend. Something neither of us ever seems to have enough of. And we needed it pretty quick since this wedding was sprung on us earlier this spring. With the request to have it at our house attached.

Sometimes you have to go the pre-made route. Now if you'd like to come over and help me finish out the greenhouse this summer, I'll be waiting. *grin*
