Something tried to eat me alive...

...the other night when I was watering and planting a couple of things. I was out there for no more than 30, maybe 45 minutes. I didn't notice anything when I came back inside, but in the middle of the night I woke myself up I was itching so badly.

That was three days ago, and I am still waking myself up itching in the middle of the night. Bites all over my midsection, creases of legs, etc. Could it be chiggers???

I got chiggers when I was a kid and we would pick blackberries in the woods behind our house. But this was in my front garden bed, for crying out loud. What in the world?

Oh man! Chiggers!! That sure sounds like it to me. Its antihistamine time. Sorry for you hon!

Chiggers. Calamine lotion helps a bit. Try not to scratch. The first time I got them down here I scratched for 3 months!

I remembered last night we had some calamine lotion! It sure does help. It was the first night I haven't woke up itching!

I'd been using this herbal, all-natural bug repellant...but I busted out the DEET yesterday. :D

Those horrible chiggers leave marks for months. From what you describe that is exactly what got you. I wake up in the middle of the night even caked up with calamine.

Ugh,

I hate those things. I get them at least once each summer. I had them a few days ago, but only a few bites. I've been completely eaten up with them before.
