Are you still looking for a beekeeper in Mid TN?

My best friend Tim has two hives and he is in Chapel Hill. Actually we just split the first hive yesterday, killed the Queen and put new Queens in each hive. That was an experience!!!

You know that anything involving me, Tim and 50,000 angry bees...there has to be a funny story. I'll pass that one along at the swap. The article will be in The Marshall County Tribune home and garden section.

Jeff, I will be needing an introduction to your beekeeping bud. I had planned on getting some hives but had too much happen in life. Maybe in the next year or two. I would like to see how the locals deal with their hives so as to see first hand before the fact.

Ok, I'm shocked that this thread hasn't blown-up! I really thought that the interest in bees would make this one pop.

Tim should be at the swap and will be happy to answer any questions that he's conversant on and probably several that he isn't! You can see his front-yard hive as you drive out of the park.

Needless to say, the reporter from The Marshall County Tribune had an enlightening and slightly painful new experience in journalism. Not quite a Darwin Award nominee but pretty dang close. :-)

I have been thinking about getting a hive. But I didn't really want to do the work. Then my holly bushes started blooming this spring -- and they are SWARMING with bees every day. So, SOMEBODY around here is already keeping bees -- there's plenty here already without me keeping my own!

I have a good friend at work, very smart cool dude who hangs out with another cool dude who built him custom hives. I told him to sign on to GardenWeb...lol...he would be so into this thread.
