is it too late to plant?

Some of the things in my garden are starting to look not so good. Some of the bean plants have been eaten by something, and some random parts of the cucumber vines are no longer living. Is it too late to put some more cucumber and bean seeds in the ground?

Also, how fast does the watermelon plant itself grow? It is very slow going and I don't know if that is normal. I have one plant that is longer, but still pretty short, and I have a couple that just really are not big at all.

It will be fine to plant beans and cucumbers. I have been canning beets and beans for weeks. We then pull bean vines up and replant for late beans. Cucumbers will make if planted, still plenty of time to grow and produce. Watermelons usually spread quickly. Not sure where you are located, it has been dry here and have to water. We spread straw around plants and between rows (which helps with weeds) and some plants, newspaper under the straw.
