what's wrong with my zucchini??

My zucchini is not looking too good. Four or so days ago the leaves starting turning up instead of being more flat, and then they have slowly been getting brown around the edges and kind of crispy all over. There are a couple leaves that look fine. I looked and didn't see any kinds of bugs or eggs or anything, but when I looked I noticed some of the leaves had very very tiny little holes. I took some pictures tonight but I'm not sure how I can attach them to this message.

Also, I have a grape tomato in a container on my patio. Several days ago some of the leaves started turning yellow. I watered is Saturday, wasn't home yesterday most of the day so didn't get to water it (but it looked okay) and then today it is very very very droopy. I watered it tonight. Is it just dry?

Check the stem (just where it comes out of the soil) on your zucchini to see if there are signs of borers. If the lower stem appears to be weak or damaged, that points to a possible borer problem. They are the most common zucchini pest around here. Sometimes the signs of damage can be hard to spot until it is too late, at least for the infected plant.

Check the soil around your tomato. Dig down an inch or two. Is it dry? Mulch, especially red plastic sheeting, can be helpful to maintain soil moisture for your tomatoes. Disease can also make a tomato look droopy, but lack of water would be the first thing I'd check.

Overwatering 'maters will cause them to turn yellow and die too!
