I need suggestions for plants for south-facing garden

Hi all,

I have a bit of a yard on the south side of the house. It's got a bit of a slope and it ends at a wall that edges our driveway.

I need some suggestions on which plants I can use, that are perennials, heat resistant and drought resistant. I live in Central TN.

I don't have much time to fuss with plants so they can't be too fussy to grow.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Russian sage, coneflower, rudbeckia, salvias, asclepias, coreopsis, sedums all work for me!

I think perennials (other than grasses) are much more fussy and time consuming than most dwarf trees and shrubs. You don't need to tidy up, deadhead, etc. Plus you get to look at something from late Oct to mid April because many have multi-season interest. Anyway here are some more perennials.

Artemesia
Coreopsis
Lavandula
Salvia
Miscanthus
Pennisetum
Panicum

Here are some trees and shrubs. Look for dwarf cultivars.

Juniperus
Ilex
Cedrus
Lagerstroemia
Magnolia
Rhus

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll look them up for images. I'll be planting some dwarf shrubs at the back, by the wall of the house, and then the perennials. Then it depends on how easy the plants are to buy lol. Thanks again.
