Help in planting a fall garden ~ New gardener

I'm in my first year of gardening. My father-in-law mentioned planting a fall garden. I have no idea where and when to start. And what to plant. ANY advise and help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The document linked below has been presented here in this forum multiple times. I think that you'll find that it goes a very long way in answering most of your fall gardening questions. Note especially the chart on page 7.

I get seed for fall and winter gardening from souther seed exchange. There catlog can be viewed online. Read about the differerent veggies, and try the ones that they recommend.

winter density is a great lettuce that often last all winter for me.
