I may be the source of your plant. I was given one orange pumpkin at the last fall swap, and let it dry completely. It contained hundreds of seeds. This is the first season for me growing them. The four I have growing all have the little green pumpkins on them, which is the time if you are going to eat them, you do. Have no idea how to prepare them for eating. Growing mine for fall arrangements and give aways.

You probably have Solanum aethiopicum (sometimes called Solanum integrifolium). It can be used for decoration, saved for seed, used as a conversation piece, cooked (often in stews and soups), stir fried, or eaten raw.

Hummm...Thanks for the plant and the advice. I'm sure it will look lovely in a basket on the table. I will save the seeds. I may find a brave soul that will try to eat it. Thanks again Grannie

Correct Brandon--This brave soul wants to try it and then again not, LOL. I will search for a recipe for cooking since it is also considered an ornamental eggplant. Maybe they can be used with the ones I am harvesting now.
