Challenge to plant geeks - what is this plant?

This plant is growing fairly close to some garlic chives. (only important if you brought some to a swap)

It has similar leaves, I assume also a bulb, but the bloom stalk is only about 10" tall. The bloom is lilac but not radiating from the center like regular chives. The best comparison would be to about an inch or so of liatris/blazing star flower, but lilac, and less than an inch wide.

It did not smell garlicky/oniony.

I know a picture would help but that would just make it too easy. Okay, I'll get around to taking one if no one comes up with it.

Time to break out the camera, Evelyn. My guess and I'm totally guessing, is some sort of allium.

Check out society garlic, mine has a beautiful lilac bloom.

Could also be a baby chive. They tend to self-seed their own & they take a year or two to look fully mature, like the others.
