Red Buckeye tree

Hi all. I planted a small 1 gal Red Buckeye in the front of my house on a slope and basically in full sun. It looks nice in the spring and early summer, but then it looses all its leaves and dies off soooo early in August (even July.) I read up on it and understand it may do better in moderate shade and even the underbrush. I can move it this winter to my back yard but wanted to get input before I moved it. Its flower is pretty but I am not sure this tree is worth the hassle to date.
