Aristocrat

My property has two aristocrat bradford pear trees that are 25 years old. These are trees I would have never planted but they are mature now. I planted a couple of October Glory Maples to eventually replace them. Does anyone have any advice on how to keep these bradfords from splitting? Should I just hope for the best? They look good but I hear so many bad things about bradford pears in general that I am anxious. As always, any advice is greatly appreciated.
