Hi all,

I'm a new gardener living in TN. I'm looking for a couple of evergreens to place on opposite sides of our garage. They cannot be more than 4ft wide. The evergreens would face west with mostly full sun during the day.

A lot of people seem to use emerald green arborvitaes, but we have an active deer population. Besides the arborvitaes, I thought about boxwoods. Pros/cons? The green tower and graham brandy versions have the right specs, but I was told that they won't hold their shape or do well in the cold weather. I saw the Dee Runk as well, but it wasn't my first preference.

Are there other options I could consider besides arborvitaes and boxwoods?
