I'm growing broccoli, brussels sprouts and cauliflower for the first time. Apparently, I planted them a little late. (early September) I am surprised but happy to report that they survived this dreadful December weather. Can anyone tell me when is the best time to plant these? When should I plant for a spring crop?

Broccoli, kale, cabbage all cool season, but I have seen them grown during spring summer.

Me I would start them in febuary or march for late spring harvest.

Great information at that link, Brandon. Confirms I did put them in late. I'm still hopeful they will survive winter and I'll still get something from them.The brussels sprouts especially seem to take the cold weather well.

In Johnson City kale, kohlrabi and mustards survive winter with protection.
