This is the first time I've grown a Brandywine. 5 or 6 weeks ago when I put this sucker in the ground, it was a spindly little thing with maybe a dozen leaves about the size of my thumb. Now it's six feet wide (if I were to loose it from its ties) with leaves bigger than my hand. I need to get better stakes for it, but I just didn't expect it to do this well so I didn't bother at first!

And here's one of the fruit it set during last week's "cool" spell. You might need a magnifying glass, but it's there!

It's about as wide as a grapefruit, for scale.

It's about golf ball sized.
