Maybe they are meant to be hard yellow, long-keeping tomatoes? If you knew the variety name it would really help us to help you.

Are you growing in containers or in the soil?

If you could let us know where you are, perhaps some people here could suggest some good varieties for you to grow for your area.

It is hard to say what type. I grow some bonnies best and some local variety from the college(not sure the real name) but we also get some volunteers from compost. All outdoors and this one is in the ground. Plenty of nutrients/compost etc.. We have never grown(at least never bought seeds for) or eaten any yellow like this. I am in Hawaii and we thought it might be the heat but for the last month and a half it has been in the 60s and 70s and still the same effect.

There are several commercial varieties that have rin from one parent. If you let seed grow in the compost pile, it is most likely that a seed from a commercial hybrid wound up germinating into a plant homozygous for rin.

There are several available varieties with rin such as Giraffe which Sandhill Preservation sells.

Do you know what the days to maturity (DTM) were for your plants? That is the average amount of time it takes from putting a 6-8 week old plant in the ground until the first fruit ripens. It occurs to me that even though you are in a beautiful climate, 60-70 degrees is a little low for tomatoes, and probably slows down ripening. Also, your day length is about 12 hours year round, right? Are your plants getting enough sun?
