Druzba, which is an heirloom is pretty hard to beat. Grows well most everywhere and has a wonderful, intense tomato taste that all seem to enjoy. Personally I tend to like red tomatoes with a pronounced acidic taste, such as Old Brooks and Silvery Fir Tree.

Opposite here- I tend to like tomatoes with sweetish tone to it.

Suncitylinda, highly recommend Aurora for coolish months-
"Det., small bushy plants, slightly flattened, juicy, flavorful fruits, excellent cooking tomato despite its slicing nature, large early yields, germinates well at cool temps, grows well in cool outdoor conditions. Named after the Aurora Borealis in Siberia where it originates."

Another vote for Druzba

Druzba for a red and Eva Purple Ball for a pink. If you want to go really "different", get Jaune Flamme which is a round orange with tart flavor.

Is Druzba a good producer?

Since most reds do not have the best flavor in my garden, and I rarely trial round reds, Supersonic (F1) would be my choice for a "good" tasting, extremely productive round red.

And who was the person who introduced Druzba in the US? Yes, me, read thelink below and it gets another vote from me as well. ( smile)

But there are others , round red ones only now, that I like and they might include:

Bulgarian Triumph
Red Brandywine, only the true RL one
Break O Day
Lida Ukranian
Red Barn ( flat globe)
Bulgarian #7

...... to name just a few and round of any color tend to have mid sized fruits, not as large as beefseak varieties.
