I'm growing San Marzano for the 1st time. They seem to look healthy except for always looking somewhat wilted. I've been watering them the same amount as my other varieties. Is this common with San Marzano or should I be concerned with this?

No it isn't common with the variety. Are these in the ground or in containers? If containers, how big. Over-crowding, getting root bound in a container and over watering are the most common causes of what you describe. And over-watering, leading to root rot, is #1. Most don't think they over-water but most do. ;) Dave

The San Marzanos are in 6.5 gal. containers. They were transplanted from 1 gal. pots 3 weeks ago so I don't think they're root bound yet. The potting mix is 5-1-1 with good drainage. I'll try to back off on the watering.

Mine hasn't been transplanted to a larger pot yet, it is still in a 1 gal. I know it's time to transplant it; my concern isn't just the lack of space but we have had unusually cold weather in OK and I'm concerned it won't make it.
