RootMaker pots for sprouting tomatoes

Has anyone used the RootMaker flats for starting tomato seeds or for potting up seedlings? If so, what did you think of the results? Did it grow awesome roots and stocky plants?

Is this what you mean? Awfully expensive and their shipping is almost as much as the trays.

You can accomplish the same thing - development of a good fibrous root system - simply by using staged transplanting; transplanting to a slightly larger container or cell pack once the seedling has developed 2 sets of true leaves. EX: from the germination tray to a Dixie cup - much less expensive. ;)

I suppose for a few plants it might be worth trying but not if you were growing lots of transplants.

Thanks, dig...they sent me some free samples and I will experiment with doing what I usually do -- transplanting up.
