Reporting seedlings

My baby tomatoes are getting big! It's time to repot them again. They have been growing in their seed starting medium but I think it's time to transition th to "real" soil. Does anyone have a suggestion for the best medium for them? Should I pot them up in mixture of compost and the seed starting medium? Should I place them in a quality potting mix? They will eventually be grown in large pots outside and I have already made my soil mix which is a mixture of compost, peat moss and vermiculite so maybe I should pot them up with the same type of mixture? I don't want their little roots to get burned with too much compost. Just not sure what they need at this point. They're all about 3-4 inches tall and have several sets of true leaves. They hang out
In the greenhouse on warm days and stay in under lights if its cool. My target outside date wil be around Mother's Day . This is my first year growing from seed. I have Roma, Siberian Rwd and Cherokee Purple varieties. Thanks so much in advance!

I pot up into potting mix because seed starting mix is more expensive (6$ for a small bag vs. 8$ for a large bag of potting mix). This year I have a bunch of Happy Frog potting soil left over from a different project, so that's what my peppers went into, and my tomatoes will probably get the same treatment. There is also Ocean Forest by the same people, but I have read quite a few reports that it is too rich in nutrients and tends to burn seedlings if used straight. I haven't experienced this with the happy frog.

So I told you that, not to plug for the guys at fox farm, but because I use a potting soil/mix when repotting, though, I'd go for the mix over the soil.

Just out of curiosity, when did you start your seeds? My tomatoes didn't sprout until this morning!

To zachs,
I started my tomatoes at the end of February. I using botanical interest seeds which seem to have a really really good germination rate. Tool th about five days to sprout. Started them early because I wanted nice big stocky plants before I transplant them in mAy. And I am really impatient :)

As long as they are in a container of any kind - soil-less potting mix only. Brand is your choice.

Yeah, I was feeling the urge to see something green about mid-Dec haha, that's why my onions got started a couple weeks too early.

I use a lot of Bot. Int. seeds, I like the quality, they have a pretty good selection, and most of all, they are local. I have never had a problem with them, and the two nurseries I use down here in Littleton carry a wide selection from them so I don't have to pay shipping.
