Which tomato seedling would you choose?

Hello!

I found an old seed packet of Amish Paste from Burpee a few weeks ago, and decided to see if they would germinate at all. I put 2 seeds in a single pot and started them indoors.

I now have 2 seedlings in the pot, except one is Regular Leaf and the other is Potato Leaf. Both came from an Amish Paste seed packet.

From looking around online, I see that Amish Paste has Regular Leaf.

The thing is... I'm totally intrigued by this mysterious potato leaf plant.

If you could only plant one tomato plant of these 2, which would you choose? The mystery tomato or the (likely) Amish Paste?

Why choose? You should be able to separate them while they are still that size and repot both plants.

Sure, separate them and grow both.

I need to choose one because I have very limited space available and I have plans for all my other pots. I had set aside one pot for this tomato seedling (whichever I choose).

That's why I'm asking for help deciding between the two.

Not always true, but often potato leaved plants are sort of gangly. Would it be likely to do well in your container? Keep one and give one to a friend who grows tomatoes. Mysteries are fun.

Thanks Carolync, I didn't know that potato leaf plants tended to be gangly.

Yes, I have decided to give one of these seedlings up for adoption to a co-worker of mine. I think I might just keep the potato leaf variety simply because I don't have any idea what it is and it will be a fun surprise. I've already been there, done that with Amish paste.

Thanks all
