What size pot? That is what will determine what varieties you can grow. Normally the smaller, determinate and/or bush varieties are recommended for growing in pots but of the 1000's of the varieties of them that are available only very few will do well in a small pot.

A 5 gallon bucket is the very smallest container recommended and that has problems. If you want to grow an indeterminate variety you will need much larger containers than that - the 10-12 gallon range for best results.

Will you be starting seeds, looking for plants at a garden center or big-box store, buying seedlings from a vendor, or what?

I will be growing in a 1/2 wood wine barrel. I will get it from either a local nursery or an online source if anyone knows a good one I am up for that suggestion too...Thanks,
