Mega Bite Germination Issues?

| Has anyone else started Mega Bite tomato seeds this season and had any germination issues? This was the poorest germination that I've had so far this year -- (33%; 3 of 9 germinated.) Still, it may have been something that I did. But since everything else started at the same time came up fine, it *might* be the seeds. Anyone?

I've never heard of this; is this a hybrid? Treated seeds? What was the seed source? Starting mix, moisture, temp was the same as others the germinated normally? |

| F1 hyb. "container variety" from Park (also available elsewhere). Not treated, although I have no issues with treated seeds. Except for the seeds, "ceteris paribus." Bottom heat -- ~70-82 F. I started six varieties at the same time, under same conditions. |

| I quit ordering from Parks a few years ago. Poor germination was one of the reasons along with waiting weeks for orders to be shipped, terrible customer service and other issues. I would try a different seed source next time. |

| It is a brand new, "just introduced" hybrid so like other new ones it is very possible that it will have a lower germination rate. Newer hybrids often do. The rush to introduce new ones sometimes outweighs the common sense of the companies and more sterile seeds get included rather than waiting another year for better grow-outs. And Parks isn't the only one with that problem. Personally I have never had any problems with Parks Seeds service-wise, at least no more than with many other seed companies. Dave |

| I didn't have any problem with them |

| I'd suggest you call them about your problem. I did this several years ago and they were most helpful. They gave me credit towards replacement seeds either that year or the following year. I have always considered Parks to be one of the best to deal with and generally their products have performed well for me. Larry |

| I have trouble with germination sometimes if seeds are sent us mail. I pay more and use u.p.s . |
