Will plants harden off on cloudy days?

I live in NY, zone 6A, we have four cloudy days forecasted followed by two rainy days. Will plants harden off if taken out with those weather conditions?

Yes they will but just like people they can also still get sun burned/scorched and wind burn. Even on very cloudy days much more UV penetrates than they are used to so they need to be sheltered and closely monitored.

Thanks!

If I had my choice I always move plants out on cloudy or rainy days. The transition is much easier to handle; no need for shade cloth or constant monitoring of plant condition.

Granted that those days are involved in the hardening-off process but the less abrupt of a change you can make for this process the better your plants will respond.
