| It's my second year growing tomatoes and first year with the string trellis. I have a 4 x 10' bed and a 7' A-frame and cross beam that I've already built. I was hoping to plant 2 rows 24" apart and 18" spacing between plants. They're all indeterminate varieties and I'd be pruning all suckers. Is that too crowed? |

| That's pretty standard spacing AFAIK if you are going to be pruning to 1 stem. My string supported plants in the GH are spaced 3' apart but then I don't prune much. I'd rather have all the tomatoes that the pruning eliminates. Dave PS: there is no such thing as "suckers". It is a misleading label from way back before folks understood how tomatoes actually grow - there's no "sucking" involved. :) |

| Right. I guess "sucker" has just become synonymous with new stems. I might push my luck and try two. Thanks for the feedback. |
