My cukes and beans are doing it too. Theyll straighten themselves out, if you get them outside soon enough, Last year my Sunflowers did it, and I didnt fix it soon enough so they ended up with zig-zag stems, looked cool, but seemed to stunt their growth. :)

They'll always seek the sun. I'd just turn the container and watch them stretch the other way.

"Stretching" being the operative word.

Window light is never enough light for young seedlings so they quickly turn long and lanky with weak stems trying to find enough light.

I appreciate the info, Dave, but I currently do not have the money to buy grow lights for them. Is this going to stunt their growth or will they turn out okay? Thanks!

It's ok if they get a little leggy. Just repot them in 8 oz. Dixie cups and bury them as deep as you can (up to the first set of true leaves if possible) and get them outside as soon as possible. Just keep them in the shade for a day or two and them gradually increase the amount of sun they get.

You don't have to buy special grow lights. They just need light of whatever kind you already have. Any kind of plain old fluorescent light is what most use. You can also do them outside using the Wintersowing techniques detailed on that forum here.

No it won't stunt them but it will give them weak stems and circulatory systems. Burying them deeper will help but it if far better to avoid the problem in the first place.

I use daylight CFLs in the clamp-on work lights, others use tube-style in shop lights.
