Happy Mothers Day to all moms, sons and daughters.

In addition to celebrating and honoring mothers, It is also a traditional plant out benchmark in a lot of places across America. I wonder how many out there are actually starting plant out this weekend. Are you still waiting for Memorial Day?

At any rate, If nothing else, celebrate in honoring all mothers.

RE: Mothers Day

My mom was 91 last month...she's great. But in the past 7 days I have set 80 tomatoes, 40ft row of half runners, one third of my Silver King corn, two hills of cuke seeds, two of cuke plants and one each of squash and zuchinni. I've had kohlrabi and onions for a good while. I still lack egg plants and bell and sweet banana peppers but too wet on Moms Day. Gonna take her a present tho.

Ill be cozying up next to fire and grumbling. Winter is still lurching around here, with several inches of snow in the forecast for Sunday, after a fine week of high 70's-low 80's. I'm beginning to wonder if gardening in Colorado is worth my time and effort anymore.

RE: Mothers Day

I went up to see my mom yesterday, did some yard work for her, went to lunch, but got to harvest a box full of avocados from the tree I planted in 1975. That thing has supplied us pretty much since, and everyone loves the fruit (Fuerte).
