My cherry tomato plant has began to wilt and look feeble and droopy. Its about a month and 2 weeks since sprouting. Outdoors in the sun mostly(I get a lot of shade). I just transplant into a 5 gallon pot, but it was showing signs prior to transplant. I have not feed nutrients. Does this look like an over water? I have an exact plant sprouted the same time that looks great. But I have it planted in the ground and didn't drown it with water I believe? Soil I use is fox farm ocean Forrest or Happy Frog.

Relax, I think you may be just seeing the results of transplant stress, but here are some suggestions: Dig down with your finger about 4-6", is the growing medium wet, dry, or just right? If it is wet, don't water, if dry then water. If it is just right, check again the next day. Just remember that as the weather heats up, you may need to water multiple times a day in a container. You may want to go ahead and water it with a dilute solution of a balanced fertilizer (numbers equal or close to the same like, 7-7-7 or 5-6-6.) Containers need consistent feeding because when you water, the nutrients are washed out of the growing medium. Betsy

Hey Betsy, but it was showing those signs prior to transplant. I was going to wait a couple more days to see if it sprites up a bit . Then water in some nutes. Probably grab something formulated for tomatoes

Check the moisture level before waiting to water, it may be dry. Was the plant root bound before transplanting? In a very small container? Perhaps got a bit dry before transplanting? Or just jealous of its sibling that went into the ground? Yeah, I know I'm being silly, but I think if you maintain proper moisture in the growing medium and feed that baby appropriately, it will do just fine. Betsy

Betsy , the plant may have been root bound ? Not sure since this is my first time ever growing from seed. I did see the roots around the soil when I did the transplant. But I also transplanted the healthy looking one twice and its thriving. I will check the moisture later and post back.
