| I know you must get these often, but I can't conclusively ID this leaf problem. It starts out as yellow patches on oldest leaves, then progresses up. No interveinal chlorosis as far as I can tell. Then brown patches develop on same leaves, even as younger leaves continue growing. Patches are in the middle of the leaves. This is from one of the oldest leaves.
The potting mix is 5 parts pine bark and 1 part perlite, limed to deal with acidity, with regular nutrient feeding.

| look at the underside of leaves too. especially at early stages of yellowing. look for signs of mildew |

| Does mildew look like faint white growth and dots under the leaves? |

| I'm not sure if you've already tried this, but I like to use the A&M website. They have a good tomato solver page that diagnoses leaves, fruit, insect, stem, root, etc. problems. Based on their info it looks like you might have early blight. |
Here is a link that might be useful: Tomato Problem Solver

Thanks for the A&M link. Just so my thoughts are confirmed with others. Can anyone take a look at my pics and confirm Grey Leaf Spot? |

| The initially infected leaves got better, but newer leaves continued to be infected, now with what looked like mildew. I bought a fungicide that contains copper octonoate to deal with the problem and have sprayed twice so far. The older leaves are basically the same and are still alive, while suddenly newer leaves began to yellow, then brown, then shrivel up and die in just a few days. Dead and dying leaves:
Is this a really bad case of powdery mildew, or is it something with the spray? |
