I was disappointed at not being able to get my usual Sweet100s this year, and ended up with some "Large Red Cherry", which I gather is a more-or-less heirloom indeterminate that produces cherry tomatoes on the large side. While I'm impressed with their vigor (the plants are 8-feet tall right now, and reaching for the rooftops) the fruiting doesn't seem to be quite as abundant as with the Sweet100s. Have yet to taste one. We'll see. I read that they are fairly drought tolerant, so it'll be interesting to see how they hold up in our fierce summer, which is just around the corner. Any perspectives on this variety?
Follow-Up Postings:

I am growing them this year - started as seed. I chose them for their drought tolerance and larger fruit size. They are looking strong in the garden, still quite small - one of my better seedlings along with the Manalucie. Our planting was delayed in Upstate South Carolina because of cool temps. I am encouraged that yours are growing so well...hope you get a good harvest. Kaz

My three plants have maybe 15 of what are probably full sized (but still green) tomatoes. Lots of flowers, though, so it is by no means going to be a bust. The fruit cluster in groups of three. Not as many as in Sweet100. Of course, there is a bit more to each tomato. The plants are lush, and growing several inches a day.

I've raised Large Red Cherries for several years now. They are really sweet and prolific. One plant should keep your whole family supplied with cherries.

Thank you. I'm looking forward to them. Actually, now that I count again, there are more like two dozen out there. But the plants are just enormous. These are my only indeterminate small tomatoes this year, so I'm hoping for the best. I've had one-and a-half inch green ones out there for a couple of weeks. They're taking their good time ripening.

I grew them for the last several years. I was unimpressed. This year, I am growing Black Cherry (8th consecutive year), Chadwick Cherry (third year), Big Sun-gold Select (third year), and Jaune Flamm'ee (first year).
