Short, thick, twisted tomato plants?

I bought a six-pack of roma tomato plants and transplanted them to a spot in the garden. Two of the plants are growing normally while the other four seem to be stunted, refusing to grow taller and are just getting thicker and growing their branches out laterally. The central stems on the stunted plants don't seem to be growing straight and are instead twisted and gnarled. All six plants are growing in the same soil with the same light exposure. All are bearing fruit. What could be going wrong with the four short plants? In the attached pic, you can see the two normal ones on the left next to two of the short ones on the right.
