Where to put my extra tomatoes?

Posted by ladydub 8a (My Page) on

I have two Earthboxes with tomatoes (2nd year) but wanted to grow a few more. The other plants on want to plant are:

Lemon Boy
Golden Boy
Sungold
Super Sweet 100

I'm going to put 2 at opposite ends of a raised bed (against an 8 ft trellis) and 2 in smart pots that I just bought.

Wondering what plants I should put in the bed and which ones in the containers. I've never grown any of these varieties before.

Any advice??

Thank you!

Sun Gold and Super Sweet 100 are humongous plants - easily 4' wide and 10-12 feet tall. Put them in the bed. Lemon Boy and Golden Boy don't get nearly as big and will do ok in containers assuming the containers are at least 10 gallons..

Thank you! I would have thought the opposite, so I'm glad I asked.

The smart pots are 15 gallon. Can i just use a standard tomato cage with them?

Going out now to find some pine bark or Fafard 52 if I can get it!
